The process and all the info you need before booking your session
You're looking for a newborn photographer in the Redlands — hi, I'm Catherine at Robinson Creative. I create natural, lifestyle newborn images with minimal props in my Victoria Point studio, an easy-to-reach location for Redlands families.
With 18+ years of experience and as a mum of 3, I keep sessions relaxed, baby-led and beautifully simple. Parents and siblings are always welcome, and we will view your images together on the same day.
I keep everything clear from the start: the session fee is $149 and collections start from $395. You will always have clear investment information. I reply to enquiries within 24 hours. I would love to help you plan your newborn session.
Newborn sessions are scheduled on weekdays for the rest of 2026 — that’s when the studio is calmest and where most of my diary lives. Weekends are limited and include a $200 surcharge, so I usually steer families to a weekday.
Step 1
Once you have read all about me, your Redlands, Brisbane Newborn Photographer, drop me a line and ask all those tricky questions (I know you have them and I am here to help!). Once you decide you want to work with me it's time to book in.
Complete the contact form or call me on 0421 912 680 to see if I have availability. Once I confirm this, a session fee/deposit is required to secure your session.
All newborn photography sessions are booked on your due date and your actual shoot date is confirmed once your baby arrives.
Step 2
When your tiny little one arrives I ask you to get in touch to schedule your session. Newborns are best photographed under 14 days old if possible so please have me on the list of people to contact as soon as your little one is here.
After we have confirmed your session date I will send through all the info on how to prepare your baby for your session, what to bring etc. Its important you follow these few simple steps so we make the most of your session.
A few days before your session I will give you a call to answer any last minute questions you may have and have a chat about styling and what sort of images you love and would like displayed in your home.
Step 3
My studio is a beautiful spot to relax. I know sleep might not be something you have had a lot of in the past few days so please don't worry about your session. You get to put your feet up and relax (and have a nap if you would like) while I take care of your little one and create beautiful images for you to treasure. Everything is done at your baby's pace, I will follow your baby's cues with what they are comfortable doing and baby safety is my highest priority.
Your session includes photos with parents, any siblings and of course make sure your baby's teeny tiny, brand newness is captured.
Grandparents and well behaved fur babies are welcome but please let me know at our pre-session consultation so I can plan your session.
You are welcome to bring any sentimental items you would like included in your session (a family shawl or special teddy, etc).
Step 4
As soon as we have finished taking your newborn images and creating magic we move through to the really exciting part... viewing your images! You will be able to relax and view your images on my cinema screen and I will be there every way to step you through the selection process.
It's really helpful for you have had a think about how and where you would like to display your images. I can step you through all your different options. Everyone has a wall in their home begging for some family photo goodness!
Step 5
When your images, albums and wall art are ready I will get in touch to make a time for you to collect.
I love seeing the excitement when clients collect their wall art and albums (it always feels a bit like Christmas). I know how much I treasure photos of my own family around my home and I am grateful that clients can as well!
WHAT HAPPENS IF MY BABY DOES NOT SLEEP DURING OUR SESSION?
Awake photos are often just as special as sleepy shots. Your baby's eye colour may change as they get older so capturing them wide open as a newborn is extra special!
ARE YOU IMMUNISED?
Yes I am fully immunised against Whooping Cough, Covid19 and annually for Influenza.
CAN I ORDER PRINTS AND ALBUMS FROM YOU?
You sure can! I can step you through the process of choosing the right image at the right size in the right finish to fit seamlessly into your home. I use the very best suppliers from around Australia to guarantee quality and durability of images. What is better than displaying your family photos as art?
CAN WE PURCHASE THE DIGITAL FILES?
Sure can. all my packages include your digital files so you can print/love/share.

Do you photograph families from Redcliffe, Rothwell and northside Brisbane?
Yes — many families drive from Redcliffe, Rothwell, Deception Bay, Capalaba, Cleveland and across greater Brisbane. All newborn sessions are in my Victoria Point studio (Redlands) — studio-only, no in-home. It’s an easy trip and everything you need is already here.
ARE PARENTS & SIBLINGS INCLUDED?
Yes everyone is included. I encourage parents to be part of the photo session even if you are not feeling 100%. I look after new parents with careful posing and bit of photoshop love if requested. Families are truly my favourite to photograph so please don't worry, my toddler wrangling skills are "ninja level".
WHAT DO WE WEAR TO A SESSION?
My images are light and airy, so whites, pastels, plain lighter colours look great. Please avoid logos or writing as this can be super distracting, the focus on your image should be your eyes and expression, not your brand. I suggest to families to lay everyone's clothes out on a bed and make sure everyone co-ordinates. Say no to the matching white polos, it's about co-ordinating rather than matching. I find shopping for everyone in the same shop can make things easy. Also if you have a toddler in tow, please bring a change (just in case). I have EVERYTHING for your baby in the studio already.
HOW LONG DOES THE SESSION LAST FOR?
I ask families to set aside 3 hours for your Newborn session. All newborns are different and I follow their lead during your session to make sure your baby is content and settled. Some of this time is used for feeding/cuddles or changing, that that is totally ok. I can assure you we will have PLENTY of opportunity to capture those priceless memories. As soon as we wrap up your newborn session we move into the exciting part of choosing your images - don't panic this is included in my 3 hour estimate.

We had photos taken with Catherine when my daughter was a newborn and again recently for her 1st birthday cake smash. She is so talented at what she does, I can’t recommend her enough!
The photos are just beautiful and something we will treasure forever. She has a very natural way with babies, so much so that my daughter was more interested in her than the cake!!
